Team Core-Tech was staying at a hotel for the night for the first time. Who would have thought? It was a small home owned by a widow that would allow travelers to stay for a night or two for a cheap price. Jinja did not approve of the idea.
"It could be a trap!" Jinja cautioned. "Half of the country has a warrant on the five of us and I'm pretty sure this providence is no different."
"Come on Jinja. It's just a little old lady. She doesn't have a bone to pick with us," said Bren.
Jinja scowled and crossed her arms. "Well, Bren, I'm sure this old lady needs a little money in her pocket for groceries. Letting strangers into her home can't be very prosperous."
"I agree with Jinja," Beyal piped up.
Jinja smiled at the young monk. Beyal always had her back. That was one of the reasons she really liked him. He was a guy she could depend on and one that actually gave things she said a thought.
"It's going to be ok guys," said Chase. "We're just staying one night. If anything seems suspicious in the slightest I'll be sure to get us out of there quick. It can't hurt to sleep in an actual bed for one night, right?"
Jinja gave a heavy sigh before following the others inside. Before she could get in the door Dax grabbed her shoulder.
"If things get too rough I'll be sure to protect you, princess," the dark skinned teen purred. His Australian accent honey coated the words sickening Jinja.
"Get off me you rat," snarled Jinja. She shoved Dax into the lining of the doorway making him grunt from pain.
"Hello there," greeted an old woman. "What can I do for you youngsters at this late hour?"
"We'd like to get some rooms for the night, miss," answered Chase. "Do you have any available?"
"There's only two because my home is so small. You may split it any way you like."
The old woman led the Core-Tech members to the hallway where there were two rooms with a bathroom between them. "You may also have access to the bathroom to freshen up if you'd like." The old woman then went back to the entrance to continue whatever she was doing before the teens had arrived.
"So, how are we going to divide this?" wondered Chase. The raven haired boy opened up one room while Jinja opened the other.
Both rooms had wooden floors, a window, and faded blue wallpaper. The only difference between them was that one room had two beds while the other had only one.
"I guess you can take the room with the single bed, Jinja. Dax, Beyal, and I can take this other room and split the beds," Chase offered the girl.
Dax shook his head. "I disagree. If something goes down here I don't want Jinja to be alone. Don't you agree mate?"
"I can take care of myself, Dax," argued Jinja. "I almost ran over Charlemagne over with a truck!" The girl was getting into a rage. She hated it when the others thought of her as weak just because she was a girl. It wasn't fair that she was treated different from the others.
"We know Jinja, but Dax has a valid point. You need someone to stay with you." Chase met Jinja's burning stare with his own. "My decision has nothing with you being a girl. I just want to be sure all of my family is safe. You've proven to me you can handle yourself, but there is safety in numbers."
"Fine," grumbled Jinja. ", but I'm not staying with Dax."
"Who do you want then?"
"I want Beyal to stay with me," Jinja grabbed the young monk's arm for emphasis and tugged him by her side.
Dax made a noise that sounded like the growl of some wild beast. Bren laid a hand on the taller boy's shoulder. "Calm down Dax. You're unraveling."
Dax jerked away from his grasp. "Shut it, Glasses," he snapped and marched into the room. Chase and Bren followed their steaming friend.
"I guess we should check things out in our room, huh?" asked Jinja. The monk nodded in agreement.
Jinja felt really lucky today. She got the chance to spend time with Beyal one on one. The cluless monk had no clue about her feelings for him, but she was pretty sure he shared the same feelings for her. Maybe this will allow her to get to know him better and create a bond between them.

Each teen took turns in the bathroom to bathe themselves. It didn't cost extra so why not take advantage of it? Jinja had just gotten out and it was Beyal's turn. She hoped he'd have enough warm water since he was the last to get in. Did they even have warm water at the temple where he lived?
Jinja pondered this as she sat at the edge of the mattress of the bed. She also wondered why there were no sheets on the bed. Well, at least the group wasn't going to sleep on the cold ground tonight. Jinja was truly grateful about that. She had hung her jacket on one of the bedposts and just wore her pants and white t-shirt. The home was warm so she wouldn't need the article of clothing tonight.
"Jinja," called a soft voice outside the door. Beyal's voice had a distinct accent, but she could never place what kind it was. It was really charming though.
"Come in Beyal. It's ok."
The teen girl blushed when he came in the room. Beyal was wearing nothing, but a pair of boxers Chase had given him. His cloak and other clothes were draped over a tan arm.
"I hope this form of clothing is acceptable," said Beyal as he hung his clothes on the other bed post just as Jinja had. "I saw the others do the same and thought it was the proper thing to do."
Of course, Beyal was only following the example of the other boys. Jinja had momentarily forgotten how clueless Beyal could be sometimes. "It's ok Beyal, really."
Jinja got a really good look at the young monk for the first time. Who knew that cloak covered up so much? Beyal was muscular, not ripped like Dax, but his stomach was toned and you could see the muscles on his arms and legs. The little monkfish was quite a sight.
Beyal took a seat next to Jinja on the mattress. She could feel his body heat on her uncovered arms causing goose bumps to rise. Beyal noticed this.
"Are you cold, Jinja?" Beyal scooted closer to her. Jinja blushed and looked down. Beyal was about to ask her why she was turning red when someone knocked on their door. "I'll get it."
When the white haired monk opened the door it revealed the old lady carrying a bundle of sheets and pillows.
"Sorry to bother you too, but I just got the sheets for your bed out of the dryer. My last customers were not so clean and spilt soda all over these. Luckily I was able to get most of the stains out."
Beyal thanked the old woman and took the sheets from her hands so she could go back to her business. The monk winced at the sudden warmness of the cloth against his bare stomach and chest. The warm feeling soon evened out on his skin becoming very pleasurable. Beyal made a happy humming noise from the back of his throat.
"Are you ok Beyal," asked Jinja. The smaller teen was just standing there with the sheets pressed close to his body. A sloppy grin was plastered on his face.
Beyal snapped out of his pleasure to address Jinja. "Yes, Jinja, it's just the sheets feel really good."
Jinja took the sheets from him. The lack of warmth made Beyal shiver. She began stretching them over the bed and tucking them into the mattress. Beyal watched the process in complete wonder. He had seen nothing like this before.
"The beds at the temple weren't this complicated. It was only a mat on the floor with a blanket." Beyal shared.
"This is a whole lot nicer, trust me," said Jinja as she put the last sheet on the bed.
Tempted to feel the warmth again Beyal crawled on top of the bed and lay on his belly. The sheets were still warm to his satisfaction. Jinja sat next to him. She laid a hand on his back. Beyal winced, but didn't tense under her touch. He really liked it.
"Feel good?" asked Jinja.
"Uh huh," mumbled the monk. He was getting sleepy. "Jinja, why do I have butterflies in my tummy when I'm with you? They crawl all over my insides, tickling me and making me feel funny."
Jinja blushed, Beyal did feel the same way. "W-well," she stammered. "It's because you like me."
"Of course I like you Jinja. You are a part of my tribe. I like all of my friends. In fact, I love you like family," Beyal was confused. Why did Jinja say something that she clearly already knew the answers too?
"N-no, y-you," Jinja had to get the words out. "You love me. You love me as more than a friend or a sister." Before Beyal could utter a word she pressed forward. "It's like you want to be with me forever. Maybe marry me one day. You do know what marriage is, right?"
Beyal blushed and nodded. "So you are saying that I love you in a very special way. Correct?"
Jinja nodded. Looking at her watch she saw it was late. "Hey Beyal, you take the bed since you've never slept in one before. I'll take the floor."
Beyal grabbed Jinja's hand firmly with his own. "No Jinja, stay here with me. I won't be bothersome. I promise."
The girl truly believed Beyal. He wasn't like Dax. The monk was too sweet and innocent. Jinja smiled softly and crawled under the blankets along with Beyal. She wrapped her arm around the smaller boy and pulled him close. Beyal's hair was soft against her face and he smelt really good after getting all the dirt and muck off him.
Beyal sighed against Jinja's neck. "You know what Jinja? I really like clean sheets. They're warm and smell good. They're like you."
Jinja's face reddened. "Really?"
"Yes, you are always so warm, personality wise and your body temperature. You also smell really good even if we're out in the wilderness."
"Thank you Beyal. You're super sweet."
The two fell asleep cuddled together. They didn't care if the other's found them like this in the morning. That night Jinja and Beyal slept better than they ever had before. Safely curled up together.
Just some mindless Jinja x Beyal fluff I thought up when my mother gave me sheets to put on my after she had just taken them out of the dryer. I love clean sheets. They're so warm and smell so clean. Apparently Beyal now loves them too.

Mindless fluff. Don't think too deeply into the title. I don't write smut/lemon. ^^;
